Statistically they say that Wednesday is one of the hardest days of the week because the weekend feels too far away and the refreshing that you once felt from the previous weekend is now past. This often means that fasting on Wednesday may prove to be one of the most difficult of them all! We encourage you to really dig in to God’s Word and invest in a time of prayer during those times when you feel most “hungry”. Even when you are at work, take a few moments and set aside to focus on Him, you might be surprised by your change of perspective.

“There are many different ways to fast. When I choose to fast food, every time I have a twinge of hunger I try to direct my thoughts, turn my focus on Him and talk to Him. When I am really hungry I go to my Bible and “eat His word” “for man does not live by bread alone but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4)
God always shows me so much there in those times when I take that time to focus on Him. “Those who hunger and thirst after Me shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) He has always been faithful to fill me. I constantly find that He gives me scriptures to stand on for that peculiar issue that I am battling. I can say them out loud every time a negative thought crosses my mind.
There was this one time that I fasted. I was battling an illness for years. I would get better but then it would come back. I knew God doesn’t heal that way. When He does it is permanent. So I planned to fast for two weeks. It turned into six months. I started to get answers and I continued for four more months. I stopped when I was finally and completely healed! I learned so much during that time. He is so faithful.” (Patricia Sharp)
